Mary is in hospital

It is confirmed by Lene Balleby, Communications Chief for the Royal Court, that Crown Princess Mary is in hospital.

From Politiken:

The royal twins birth is in progress confirms the court

Crown Princess Mary has been hospitalized at Rigshospitalet to give birth to her and Crown Prince Frederik's twins.

This has been confirmed by the court to DR news.

The Crown Princess was hospitalized at 7am this morning.

Children numbers three and four on the way

Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik announced in August that they are expecting twins, and the due date was stated to be sometime in January.

The couple already have two children, 5-year-old Prince Christian and his 3-year-old sister Princess Isabella.

They also came to the world at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

On Monday there were rumours claiming that the Crown Princess was on her way to University Hospital and that the birth was in progress. A large press corps crowded in front of the hospital, but the rumors proved baseless.
Disappointed journalists and press photographers had to slink back to their respective media houses.

When the time comes

The court was then aware that the Crown Princess's birth was not planned to be launched on a specific date.

When the time naturally was forthcoming, Crown Princess Mary will be brought to University Hospital to give birth, it was reported.

And now the time has come. The Royal House has confirmed the news and it only remains to wait for the big event - the twin birth.

More to come...
